Here at Stonewater, we are now looking for a Sustainability Technical Manager – someone to support the delivery of Stonewater’s Sustainability Strategy to ensure targets are met.



Working across Stonewater, you will ensure a consistent approach to renewables and sustainability features in new and existing homes and provide technical support to procurement teams, ensuring the selection of sustainable and compliant materials and contractors for retrofit projects.



You will assist in research trials of innovative products, systems and approaches including performance monitoring and analysis and stay updated on industry innovations, funding schemes, and policy changes. You will research emerging trends and ensure internal processes and projects align with the latest sustainability and retrofit advancements.



Collaborating with technical teams, project managers and contractors, you will ensure integration of sustainability measures and best practice into project plans and construction activities. Through participation in project reviews and technical meetings, you will provide insight on retrofit solutions, risk mitigation, and process improvements, ensuring continuous enhancement of retrofit strategy.



You will analyse the performance of different technologies and manufacturers, identifying trends and updating specifications and approaches as a result and provide advice to Homes and Development colleagues on renewable technology and sustainability features. Working with Development colleagues to build net zero operational new homes, you will develop and maintain specifications to ensure high standards of water efficiency in new and existing homes and ensure broader sustainability features are incorporated into new and existing homes.



The ideal candidate will:




  • Ideally hold a qualification related to domestic energy efficiency or similar.

  • Have experience within an Energy/Sustainability role, preferably within housing or similar sector.

  • Have strong knowledge of renewable technology in domestic property.

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and regulation.

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the opportunities for CO2 reduction and energy efficiency improvements in new and existing homes.

  • Have experience of specification writing and of procurement and producing tender documentation.

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of SAP, RdSAP, PAS2035, Retrofit & Best Practice.

  • Have knowledge of key issues impacting Environmental, Social Governance performance.

  • Have excellent verbal, written and numerical skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Have excellent IT skills, including experience of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet.

  • Able to prioritise workload, agree targets and meet deadlines.



Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
