We currently have a Staff Nurse opportunity to join our Client. As a Staff Nurse you will work in the Radiology department and take responsibility for nursing care of patients having procedures in Angiography, Ultrasound, x-ray, CT, MRI and mammography
Areas of Responsibility
To undertake nursing assessments for a wide range of patients
To act as the identified nurse for patients attending diagnostic and therapeutic procedures assessing, planning implementing and evaluating their care
To provide specialist Nursing Skills, including assisting Radiologists during interventional procedures, both as a scrub nurse and circulating nurse
To assist the Radiologists during therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
To regularly participate in departmental meetings
To undertake training in recovery and use the skills to care for patients following sedation or anaesthesia
To liaise with anesthetists in delivering care to patients
To act as a mentor to students, teaching and assessing as appropriate
Essential Requirements and Knowledge:
Registered nurse. RGN
Immediate life support training
Experience of working in an acute medical setting, recognising acute changes in a patient's condition and instigate the appropriate action.
Experience of nursing post surgical patients in an acute medical setting.
Demonstrate a high level of clinical practice.
To have previous experience in managing and treating anaesthetised and sedated patients, including the experience to recognise acute changes in a patient's condition and instigate the appropriate action would be a distinct advantage.
