Milton Keynes College is a leading Further Education College providing vocational, academic, professional and higher education courses across three Milton Keynes based campuses. The College also delivers across a range of community locations and in 12 prisons through its OLASS 3 contracts.

The 2 roles will be based in the West Midlands Region and work with the newly appointed Heads of Cluster to lead the implementation and delivery of the new OLASS 4 contracts, across the 11 prisons, in partnership with HM Prison Service and the Skills Funding Agency.

The roles will be responsible for developing a broad range of partnerships across the region including employers, FE Colleges and Private Training Providers, Work Programme Primes, Job Centre Plus and the Probation Service.

Although precise responsibilities will be agreed following appointment we are ideally looking for one role to have proven experience of working with the Female Estate and developing opportunities to support female offenders' reintegration and progression into sustainable work.

The College also holds the contract to deliver the Offenders' Learning and Skills Service at various prisons and young offenders institutions.

Description of duties

Principal accountabilities:

*With the Head of Cluster ensure an innovative, stimulating and flexible provision, which reflects and responds to employers' and students' needs
*Lead and co-ordinate partnership and stakeholder engagement, development, implementation and innovation, to ensure effective offender learner pathways are in place across each prison, Cluster and continue on release
*Support Prison Education Managers in the day-to day management of their provision
*Ensure consistent and sustained quality improvement, paying particular regard to learning and teaching; rigorously implement quality processes and ensure the effective management and use of data
*Assist the Head of Cluster to plan, monitor and evaluate the work of the provision to ensure the achievement of both Prison and College targets, including recruitment, success, funding, contribution and specific OLASS 4 KPIs
*Provide support, direction, and inspiration to your team and establish a culture of high standards and high expectations
*Carry out Staff Development and Appraisal Reviews
*With the Head of Cluster identify staff support and development needs and ensure these are delivered
*Encourage collaborative working, sharing of good practice and debate about teaching and learning
*Ensure that all staff operate within HM Prison Service Security requirements and the appropriate Prison Service Orders and Instructions

Experience / Qualifications

*Have a degree or equivalent qualification
*Have proven education management experience
*Have proven experience of leading curriculum innovation and development
*Have proven experience of building effective partnerships with a range of key stakeholders
*Have proven experience of working with offenders within a custodial environment
*Have knowledge of current relevant initiatives within FE, Offender Learning, NOMS and resource management
*Have strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate and co-operate

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
