Lecturer in Travel and Tourism
Pro rata of £20,122 - £35,325 (i.e. £10,061- £17,662) per annum
We are looking to employ a Lecturer to deliver level 1,2 & 3 subjects to Travel and Tourism students. The selected person will champion the new level 1 course (Take off into Travel). You will have a wide knowledge of the industry and hold a Certificate in Education (or equivalent). Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. (This is a part-time role over three days per week).

Description of duties
*To undertake teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
*To undertake the delivery of Functional Skills.
*To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
*To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
*To develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration Functional Skills development and equality and diversity.
*To participate in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
Essential Criteria - Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge:
*Degree or equivalent in a related subject
*A Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education
*Relevant industrial/commercial experience
*Within a customer facing role
*Teaching and assessing learners
*Curriculum delivery and associated administration
*Working within Further Education
*Working knowledge of the Travel and Tourism industry
*Customer service standards
*Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Powerpoint
*Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
*Ability to work alone and as part of a team
*IT and keyboard skills, including use of email
*Ability to manage challenging behaviour
*Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels, verbally and in writing
*Ability to solve problems and make decisions
*Flexible in approach

*To undertake continuing professional development as defined by the LLUK
*To become a member of the Institute for Learning and obtain ATLS or QTLS as required
